EVERYDAY EXCELLENCE

Nackiyé is an Istanbul based brand that creates exceptional everyday pieces. 

The project was started by sisters Defne and Basak Kocabiyikoglu in a small apartment flat in Istanbul in 2019 with an intimate offering of silk kaftans, floaty gowns and harem pants. Over the years Nackiyé expanded its repertoire to a full wardrobe, each piece a building block of a tactile experience. 

Named after Defne & Basak's great-great-grandmother, one of the first woman dervishes to ever whirl, Nackiyé has a lot of stories to tell. Inspired by the unique geographic and cultural medley of the Eastern Mediterranean, each collection acts as a bridge between past and present, the Occident and the Orient, strong will and feminine sensibility, decorum and humor. The garments are characterized by their striking yet delicate proportions, handcrafted details and traditional needlework. The exquisite fabrics are carefully sourced from heritage purveyors in Europe and Japan, offering the brand's close-knit community access to excellence, everyday. 

Each piece is designed, manufactured and presented in a historical row house in Istanbul by a small team of designers and craftsmen. Nackiyé House also hosts private events, art exhibitions and a petite canteen.
